Flow Hockey Development Welcomes Dave Lewis as Development Coach

We're thrilled to announce that Dave Lewis has joined the Flow Hockey Development team as a Development Coach! With over 20 years of specialized skill development experience, Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and proven results to our programs in Southern Manitoba.

We're excited to announce that Dave Lewis has joined the Flow Hockey Development team as a Development Coach! With more than 20 years of dedicated skill development experience, Dave brings deep local knowledge and a proven track record of helping players reach higher levels.

A proud Brandon native, Dave played for the Brandon University Bobcats from 1986 to 1991 in the CIAU (now U Sports), contributing as a left winger during his university career. After retiring from playing, he built a strong foundation in coaching right here in the community — starting with minor hockey in Brandon and progressing through various levels, including long-term involvement in the Brandon minor hockey system from Initiation to AAA Midget.

Dave has also served as a skills coach with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL and has extensive experience working directly with high-level talent. He's helped develop and refine the skills of several NHL defensemen with Manitoba connections, including:

  • Travis Sanheim (Philadelphia Flyers)
  • Zach Whitecloud (Vegas Golden Knights / Calgary Flames)
  • Ryan Pulock (New York Islanders)
  • Calen Addison (NHL journeyman / prospects pipeline)

Dave is also a head coach on the U15 AAA Brandon Wheat Kings this season.

His expertise focuses on skating mechanics, edge work, puck movement, defensive positioning, transitions, acceleration, agility, and overall player development — all delivered with a player-centered, detail-oriented approach.

At Flow Hockey Development, Dave will support our elite skating and skill sessions, winter performance programs, and summer camps (July–September). His background complements our focus on powerskating, game-speed drills, and individualized growth for players from novice to pro.

This addition strengthens our commitment to delivering high-quality, results-driven training right here in Southern Manitoba.

We're proud to have Dave on the team and look forward to the impact he'll make on our athletes.
